German legendary krautrock Embryo announced on their facebook page that Christian Burchard, the band’s leader, passed away yesterday around 17:00 at 71.
Burchard played vibraphone on Phallus Dei, the debut of Amon Düül II, and shortly after quiting Amon Düül II he formed Embryo, the musical collective from Munich, that mixed kratrock and jazz-rock with elements from middle-Eastern and African music.

Ο Burchard έπαιξε βιμπράφωνο στο ντεμπούτο των Amon Düül II, το Phallus Dei, και αφού εγκατέλειψε τους Amon Düül II ίδρυσε τους Embryo, τη μουσική κολεκτίβα από το Μόναχο, στη μουσική των οποίων το kratrock και το jazz-rock αναμειγνύονταν με στοιχεία από τη Μέση Ανατολή και την Αφρική.
