Godspeed You! Black Emperor have streamed the first track from their upcoming seventh album entitled “Luciferian Towers”. The album which will be released via Constellation on CD and vinyl on September 22 includes four tracks and focuses on commemorations of the Battle of Messines during World War I. The band describes this work as: a thing we made in the midst of communal mess, raising dogs and children. eyes up and filled with dreadful joy – we aimed for wrong notes that explode, a quiet muttering amplified heavenward. we recorded it all in a burning motorboat.
The song’s title is Undoing A Luciferian Towers, and its description in the band’s bandcamp page is as follows: look at that fucking skyline! big lazy money writ in dull marble obelisks! imagine all those buildings much later on, hollowed out and stripped bare of wires and glass, listen- the wind is whistling through all 3,000 of its burning window-holes!

Οι Godspeed You! Black Emperor έδωσαν στη δημοσιότητα το πρώτο κομμάτι από το επερχόμενο, έβδομο album τους με τίτλο “Luciferian Towers”. Το album, το οποίο θα κυκλοφορήσει από την Constellation σε CD και βινύλιο στις 22 Σεπτεμβρίου, περιλαμβάνει τέσσερα κομμάτια και επικεντρώνεται στο μνημόσυνο της μάχης των Messines κατά τη διάρκεια του Α’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου. Η μπάντα περιγράφει το δίσκο ως: ένα πράγμα που κάναμε στη μέση του κοινού χάους, ανατρέφοντας σκυλιά και παιδιά. Τα μάτια προς τα επάνω και γεμάτα με τρομερή χαρά – στοχεύσαμε σε λάθος νότες που εκρήγνυνται, ένα ήρεμο μουρμουρητό ενισχυμένο προς στον ουρανό. Το ηχογραφήσαμε όλα σε ένα φλεγόμενο μηχανοκίνητο σκάφος.
Ο τίτλος του κομματιού είναι Undoing A Luciferian Towers, και η περιγραφή του στη σελίδα της μπάντας στο bandcamp έχει ως εξής: κοιτάξτε το γαμημένο ορίζοντα! Πολλά εύκολα χρήματα σε θαμπούς μαρμάρινους οβελίσκους! Φανταστείτε όλα αυτά τα κτίρια πολύ αργότερα, απογυμνωμένα από γυμνά καλώδια και γυαλιά, ακούστε – ο άνεμος σφυρίζει και στις 3.000 φλεγόμενες τρύπες στα παράθυρα!
